How to perform

  1. Start with the bar at upper-chest height and brace your trunk.
  2. Press the bar upward while moving your head out of the bar's path.
  3. Finish in a stable overhead position and lower under control.

Tips

  • Squeeze the glutes and brace before each rep.
  • Keep the bar close to your body.

Common mistakes

  • Leaning backward
  • Pressing around the face
  • Losing trunk tension
